Implant Restoration

A dental implant replaces the root and crown of a tooth, so it closely mimics nature's design. Implants can last a lifetime with proper care, and they restore a high quality of life for patients who suffer from missing teeth.

If you'd like to consider dental implants to replace individual teeth or to anchor a bridge, partial, or denture, Dr. Blank will assess your oral health to make sure you're a good candidate. He'll then work with an oral surgeon or periodontist for the surgical part of the procedure. At your dental implant surgery, a small titanium post will be placed into the socket left by your missing tooth.

Bone naturally integrates with the biocompatible implant over time. After the site heals, an abutment and crown or prosthetic will be attached to the implant post.

If you're missing multiple teeth in a row, an implant-retained bridge may be used. The process is the same as above, however a few connected replacement teeth (the bridge) are attached to multiple implant abutments. The bridge supported by the abutments simply sits on the gums to replace missing teeth.

If you suffer from ill-fitting or uncomfortable dentures, you may benefit from an implant-supported denture. Many types of implant-supported dentures are available. For instance, one style features clips on the denture that attach to a bar on the implants...

...or the denture can be fixed to the implant heads themselves with "O-ring attachment. Dr. Blank will consult with you to determine the best option for your unique situation.
